Tampere to Host the 2027 European Disc Golf Championships

The 2027 European Disc Golf Championships (EDGC) will take place at Tampere Disc Golf Center in Tampere, Finland, from July 1–4, 2027.
Over four days of elite competition, Europe’s top players in the MPO, FPO, and Junior divisions will compete for European Championship titles on one of the continent’s premier championship venues.
A Proven Major Championship Venue
Tampere Disc Golf Center is widely recognized as one of Europe’s leading disc golf facilities. The venue previously hosted the 2025 Disc Golf World Championships, delivering record-breaking spectator interest, international media coverage, and operational excellence.
The 2027 European Championships will once again showcase the course’s demanding layout, championship infrastructure, and strong spectator experience.
The event will be led by Tournament Director Jussi Meresmaa, who also directed the 2025 World Championships.
“The World Championships created unprecedented momentum for disc golf in Finland and across Europe. We are proud to once again host a major international championship.
The European Championships represent the highest level of competition in Europe, bringing together more than 150 elite players from over 25 countries. We look forward to delivering an event worthy of the athletes and the sport.”
Europe’s Premier Championship Event
Held biennially, the European Disc Golf Championships represent the pinnacle of competitive disc golf in Europe. The event consistently gathers the continent’s highest-ranked players and emerging junior talent.
The competitive narrative heading into 2027 is compelling, with reigning European Champions Eveliina Salonen and Niklas Anttila set to defend their titles. Anttila, still in the early stage of his career, will pursue his third European Championship title on home soil.
Finland has previously hosted the European Championships in 2005 (Nokia and Tampere) and 2016 (Oulu), reinforcing the country’s longstanding role in the development of European disc golf.
Host City: Tampere
Following the successful 2025 World Championships project, the City of Tampere continues its commitment to developing world-class conditions for disc golf and major sporting events.
“Tampere has played a pioneering role in European disc golf, and we are excited to welcome the European Championships back to our city. We remain committed to strengthening the sport’s infrastructure and international visibility,” says Jaakko Mustakallio, Deputy Mayor of Tampere.
